Ultimate Frisbee

What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate is a fast moving sport played with a frisbee. The action of the game combines the passing and scoring of football, the cutting and gaurding of basketball, and the non-stop field movement of soccer. Because Ultimate is a team sport in which each player must act as a quarterback, reciever and defender, a large number of participants can be actively involved throughout the course of play.

Team History

Fordham Ultimate Flying Jesuits were founded by Terry Bonham. Ultimate existed at Fordham as early as the 1980's, then known as the Rams. Along with Terry, there were only a handful of players on the team. Due to little exposure, the original team was unable to survive. The current Flying Jesuits team was founded in 1993, and over the past six years team membership has reached over thirty players. The name has overused the "Flying" in it, but is a favorite among Fordham students as well as the Jesuits. The design is ours, the rasta man with a disc in a parody of pro sports logos. For more information, or to find out how to get involved, contact captains Brandon Contarsy, Mike Cahayla, or Liam McDonald at Fordham Flying Jesuits.
