Free Pass Information


Passes for Class:

1. If you are a resident in Fordham-owned on- or off-campus housing and take class at an alternate campus, then ou are eligible to recieve free passes.

2. If you are a commuter student and take class at more than one campus simultaneously, then you are eligible to recieve free passes.  (Note: If you do not live in Fordham-owned housing you are considered a commuter student, regardless of the proximity of your residence to any campus).


3. Professors who require their students to travel to destinations other than class (photography lab, museum, botanical garden research, etc.) must submit a signed memo on their Department letterhead, detailing their students' exact travel needs in order to recieve free passes.  Professors can either email  or mail said memo to the Office of Intercampus Transportation.


How to Pick Up Passes if you Qualify:


1. Before the last day of add/drop for the semester, you may come to the office with a valid Fordham ID and a copy of your class schedule. You will receive enough passes to last you through the end of the add/drop period. After the last day of add/drop you must come to the Ram Van office with a valid Fordham ID and a copy of your class schedule printed from My.Fordham, dated after the add/drop period.

2. After verification, you will have the option of receiving enough passes for the entire term or in 5 week intervals. After 5 weeks simply return to the Ram Van office with your Fordham ID to receive more passes, if applicable.



Passes for Internships:

1. If you have an unpaid internship at any location that is closest to a campus that you do not attend, you are eligible for free passes.


How to Pick Up Passes if you Qualify:

1. You must receive a note from your employer printed on their letterhead stating that the internship is unpaid.   Included in that letter must be the days of the week that you work, and also the beginning date and termination date of the internship. 

2. Bring that letter to the Office of Career Services to receive a cover sheet.


3. Bring both the letter and the cover sheet to the Ram Van office to receive passes.




Passes for Extracurricular Activities:

1. Professors who require a class to attend a specific event (lecture, limited time exhibit, etc.) that is not offered at the campus the class is being offered, should charter a van(s) specific for that group.  The academic department associated with such trip shall cover the cost of this travel. 

2. Free passes may be granted for students who wish to participate in intramural sports that do not exist at their home campus.  (Such cases will be treated on a case-by-case basis).  

3. When Student Employment is unable to accomodate students during their limited Lincoln Center office hours, The Office of Student Leadership and Community Development at Licoln Center may grant round trip Special Event Passes to students who need to attend Rose Hill Student Employment interviews.   


How to Pick Up Passes if you Qualify:

1. Where you recieve your pass depends on the extracurricular activity you are taking part in.  Professors and Club Personnel who wish to charter vans should contact the Office of Intercampus Transportation for further information.  

2.  Students who wish to participate in intramural sports that do not exist at their home campus should acquire a team schedule from the Fordham University Intramurals Office, and also a roster verifying the student's participation on said team.  After obtaining both schedule and roster, the student can then bring this documentation to the Office of Intercampus Transportation in order to recieve passes for the duration of the sport season. 

3. In order to obtain Special Event Passes for Student Employment purposes, students may contact The Office of Student Leadership and Commuinity Development at Lincoln Center. 




Important Notice

*Passes are valid during all hours of operation, however, students are expected to use the passes only for the pursose for which they were distributed. Students are required to verify upon receipt that they have received the adequate number of passes for either the 5 week period or the entire semester, depending on how they choose to receive their passes. At this point, the student becomes solely responsible for the proper use of passes.*

The Ram Van office is not responsible for lost or stolen passes.
If your passes are lost or stolen, you will only receive more at the five week renewal date, if you chose to receive your passes every five weeks.


Passes are for the student who received them only. Any recipient of passes caught selling their passes will be reported to the Dean of Student Life and Security.
