Internship Program
Need to gain a little experience? |
What is an internship?
An internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a particular career field of your interest. It also a good way to try-out a career to see if it is a good fit for you. Internships can be part-time or full-time, and paid or unpaid.
Why should I do an internship?
An internship is an excellent way to develop contacts, references, recommendations for graduate / professional schools, and future jobs. You can also gain academic credit for getting practical experience and becoming socialized into the world of work. More and more employers are looking for internship experience on resumes to show that the individual has gone out of their comfort zone of the classroom, to actively seek out and gain related work experience. Many recruiters use their internship programs to recruit top candidates for potential full-time job offers after graduation. |
