The Office of Career Services at Fordham University offers students a variety of resources to assist in professional development and career search. Whether you are uncertain about picking a major or need advice on conducting a job search, our office can assist you.

Your first step should be to claim your account on Fordham Job Central: Fordham Job Central gives students access to all Fordham University targeted job & internship postings, on-campus interviews, resume drops, employer presentations, career fairs, career services programs/workshops, as well as thousands of jobs employers choose to syndicate through MonsterTrak. Students will also be able to manage multiple resumes, cover letters, and other employment related documents; maintain a personal calendar; and RSVP for events.

Appointments are available for students and alumni seeking assistance in defining and planning their career goals, and learning job strategies. Let our office serve as a sounding board for your ideas.
Career Assessment
Do an online career assessment to help you pick a major or career field:
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – The MBTI is a personality self-assessment to help identify each individual’s unique type
- Strong Interest Inventory – This will help measure your interests and help match them with satisfying careers
- SIGI Plus – an online career assessment designed to provide information on values, interests, and work skills

Career Symposium
Speakers from various industries are invited to Fordham to discuss a variety of targeted topics such as fashion, media, communications, diversity, psychology, and non-profit. Speakers will share their expertise and also provide students with networking opportunities.
Career View
This is a great opportunity for students to experience first hand the world of work by visiting organizations in the great metropolitan area. Students will learn about the culture of a variety of organizations, including profit and not-for-profit, and to network with professionals working in the field.
Employer Presentations
Employer presentations are an opportunity to learn more about a particular company, career opportunities, and to network.

Career workshops are designed to address student career development needs. Workshop topics include: resumes, networking, career research, graduate school preparation, career assessments, and technology resources.

Mock Interviews
Set up a mock interview and get practice before going on the real interview.
On-Campus Recruiting
Companies from various industries schedule on-campus visits to recruit students. Students can conveniently interview with a company or organization on campus, or interview at a company site through a resume drop.
Diversity Networking Banquet
This program has been designed to provide multicultural and diverse students with the opportunity to dine and network with employers and alumni.
Graduate/ Professional School Workshop
This workshop focuses on the graduate and professional school application process from the selection of program to marketability of a completed program.
Credential Files
This process, initiated by students and alumni, includes references and pertinent information necessary for application to graduate school. It is recommended that students register with www.interfolio.com in order to participate in this credential file service.
Gaining professionalism and success in the workplace
Alumni Mentoring Program
This program pairs up recently graduated alumni with interested students each spring semester. The Mentoring Program gives students an opportunity to meet alumni with similar career interests as themselves, and gain insight and understanding in their field of interest from an insider’s perspective.
