University Research Council

The University Research Council (URC) is a standing Presidential Committee that seeks to "formulate University research policies and procedures" and report these initiatives to the University President.

By statute, the URC draws its membership from across the University's undergraduate, graduate and professional schools.

The URC seeks to create a supportive and enabling environment for research at Fordham.

The URC encourages all faculty to apply for:
 - external research funding via the Office of Sponsored Programs
 - Fordham Funded Grants & Fellowships to cultivate the preliminary
   data and/or publications necessary to support such proposals.

The URC has advocated for and achieved:
 - reduced teaching loads & course buy-outs to support grant writing;
 - the creation of a "1st Year at Fordham" Faculty Research Grant;
 - an "incentives for funded research" program;
 - enhanced Grant Officer and Faculty Development services;
 - a pool of student volunteers for human subjects research;
 - the promotion of faculty research achievements;
and other measures to raise the profile of research at Fordham.

Please visit the Office of Research web-site to
"Grab the Ram by the Horns" and take advantage
of these URC initiatives and opportunities.
